TRADITIONAL WRESTLING - Dragash
The traditional wrestling tournament is organized annually in Dragash. This form of wrestling in this area came alive since the times of the Ottoman Empire and the exile of the population in different parts of the world. This form of tournament was organized during religious holidays and family events (circumcisions and weddings). It has a sport character that ranks in the sport of wrestling. They are held in in Opojë, Gorë, and Lumë. It has an eliminating character and is categorized by ranking. The whole body of the fighter is lubricated with oil (fat) and before the start of the fight, a ritual is displayed. The tournament is held on the occasion of the Liberation Day of Dragash (the first Sunday after June 15). This tournament has gained an international character, with competitors from Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, and beyond.
