PREVALLA

Is a tourist village. Is pasrt of the Sharr Mountains. Height 1800 m above sea level. It is used during the whole year; Summer for rest and refreshment and winter for skiing. Mountain terrain, wonderful landscapes and fresh air make Prevalla one of the most exceptional areas for hiking, skiing and walking. The flora and fauna are such that make it a protected area.

 

 

 

 


KONJUSHKA

From the tourist village Prevallë (1540m) from the right side in the altitude of 2000 m the trail to Bistra turns to the right. On the way to the top lies the spring of Lumëbardhi river and Konjushka lake, but can only be seen in the summer season. Early snow covers the spring and the lake. The road to the top is of category 3 (average difficulty). Has a rich flora and fauna of different types and holds numerous herbs. From wild animals we often encounter wild goats, foxes, hare, and bear occasionally, wolves and wild boar. Untouched ski terrains offer a great skiing experience. Winter equipment is needed during winter; the place can be reached with snowshoes and ski touring.

 

 

 


SHKARPA

It has access from both sides of the Prizren-Dragash region. From the house of Prizren Mountaineer's or from Zaplluzhë - Guri i Zi village. It is an average climbing ground that is often controlled by KFOR as a border point. It has fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and the two lakes that are close to the peak. During winter it is very convenient for snow shoes and ski touring. Rich in medicinal plants and wildlife (golden eagle).

 

 

 

 

 


BISTRA 1

It is located on the Kosovo - Macedonia border with one side turned towards Kosovo in the Sharri Mountains. Its ridge is in the territory of Kosovo. Its height is 2651 meters. This height makes it the second highest peak in Kosovo, after the peak of Gjeravica. The length of the walking path is 13 km.

 

 

 

 


BISTRA 2

It is located on the Kosovo - Macedonia border with the northern side turned towards Kosovo. It is one of the few peaks that, when it is not covered with snow, is technically easy to climb, while in the snowy times it is covered with ice and the last part under the top becomes very dangerous. Height above sea level, 2651 m.

 

 

 

 


KONJUSHKA PEAK

On the top of Konjushka is Lake Konjushka, which is the highest lake of the Sharr Mountains. The lake is approximately 100 m long, 70 m wide and 50 cm deep. It has a beautiful position, located at the root of the Konjushka peak. Next to the lake is a hut that was built during the 1970s, which has served for hunting wild goats, as there is a large number of them in that territory. The altitude is 2422 m.

 

 

 

 


JAZHINCE LAKE

It is located at the roots of Bistra 1 and the lake peak. Jazhince Lake has a dark green color like sapphire and is surrounded by large rocks. Its approximate length is 120 m and its width is approximately 80 m, with a great depth. With extremely cold water, the lake is inadequate for swimming, although there are also those who dare to get in.

Arrival from Prizren towards the lake is done by car or bus to the vicinity of Prevallë 28 km, then the rest from altitude of 1450 m up to 2180 where the lake is is done on foot. It lies beneath the top peak 2400 m high. The water temperature is very low; On warmer days it is 4 to 8 degrees Celsius. It is turned north and is one of the coldest lakes in the Sharr Mountains.

 

 

 

 


BLACK LAKE

Located in the north-east of Lake Jazhince. It is the most isolated lake of the Sharr Mountains; With the size of a pool. The water level is unchanged, with a depth of 3.5 m. The color of the lake is black and it comes from rocks below the water surface. The water of this lake is the coldest of all lakes. The approximate length of the lake is 50m, the approximate width is 25m, the shape of the lake resembling the heart and is surrounded by large rocks.

 

 

 

 


BROD - SHUTMAN LAKE

One of the most popular hikings in the Brod region. This walk can be combined with two other hiking trails in the region: Vracë Mountain or the hike to the 3 Peaks, which begin and end at Shutman Lake. Highest point: 2120 m; Distance: 8.82 km.

 

 

 

 


KULLA PEAK

It lies in the middle of the great river valley of Radesh. Its snow does not melt until the beginning of the summer season. The tower divides two valleys: the Zagrejac river valley and the river valley. These two rivers join at the front of Kulla and the Radesh river is formed. There is a good position for observation, because there are two valleys left and right. On the front is the large valley of Radeshë and the village of Radeshë, while on the back there is the pit of Kleç.

 

 

 

 


KLEÇ PEAK

Located on the Kosovo-Macedonia border. It is not visible from the distance, because it hampers the surrounding peaks and especially the Kulla Peak. Kleç Peak is part of the Sharr Mountains.

 

 

 


LOW LAKE

It is approximately 15 meters long and 8 meters wide, with a depth of 70 cm. It is located at the roots of the peak of Guri i Çarë. It has the lowest altitude.

 

 

 


LARGE WATERFALL OF BISTRICA

It is located approximately 15 minutes hiking up the Low Lake. The large waterfall at the same time is the end of the Bistrica waterfalls, which has many small waterfalls. The large waterfall is about 13 m high, and above it is a waterfall about 3 m high.

 

 

 


LUMBARDHI SPRING

It is located above the tourist village Prevallë with a slight hike past the sheep farms between the Bistra, Tuzhbaba and Konjushka peaks. The area is rich in endemic plants, such as Crocus Scardicus. Visited by nature lovers and nature enthusiasts for hiking. The water temperature is cold, somewhere around 2 degrees Celsius. Below the spring are some other springs with higher water temperature.

 

 

 

 


LUMBARDH-DRINI

This location is located in the western part of Prizren. It has easy driving access and a walking distance of 1.3 km. Activity: cycling, hiking and fishing and swimming for good swimmers.

 

 

 

 


VRTOP (ISA AGA PEAK)

Village Manastirica - You can also find it with the name of Van Korff in honor of German KFOR General. In the vicinity there is also the Small Vrtop. A favorite place for mountain bikers, skiers and climbers. Winter access only with professional equipment, ski touring or snow shoes. It is preferable to visit only with a professional mountaineering guide.

 

 

 

 


BLACK ROCK

Picnic area, bird watching, walking, hiking and light winter activities. Location with great potential for skiing center. Four lodges provide sleeping and eating. A specific type of golden eagle is around this place. Potential point for cross-border tourism development.

 

 

 

 


LARGE LAKE

The length of the lake is 290 m, width 115 m and diameter 675 m. Dimensions vary with temperature rise. It is a lake with easier access to reach.

 

 

 

 


OSHLAK

The natural area of Oshlak lies in the southern part of this mountain, west from village of Mushnikovë. Oshlak is a limestone mountainous area with special biodiversity values. The area is characterized by the presence of numerous species of endemic flora and rare phytocenoses that make Oshlak very interesting and specific. Oshlak's special symbol is the stenoendemic (local endemic) type of glacial of King Alexander (Achillea alexandris regis). Another stenoendemic type is nicolytic silene. Other endemic herbs are also important. Oshlaku is also rich in rare wood species that form important forest sets such as:

1. Pine forest (pinetum Heldeichii)
2. Pinetum mugho
3. Carpietuni orientalis
4. Beech forests (Fagetum montanum), etc.

In addition to herbal biodiversity, the area is also rich in biodiversity of wildlife and poultry. The most expressive type is the wild goat.

 

 

 

 


KOBILICA

The highest peak of Kobilica is a high altitude location in the territory of Kosovo, namely in the Sharri National Park. This location can be visited by mountaineers and nature enthusiasts. By car you can reach the village of Lubinje e Epërme, then the top can be reached on foot. From a floristic aspect, it is characterized by 3 types of stenoendemic plants (local plant species) found only in this area and nowhere in the world: Hieracium kobilicanum, verbaskum scardicolin, selene.

 

 

 

 


GORNJA SELO LAKE

Length 100 m, width 53 m, depth 1.5 m, color of water from blue to green. During the summer season, a large part of the lake dries. In August the water temperature is about 14 degrees while the air temperature is about 20 degrees Celsius.

 

 

 

 


PASHTRIK

Starting from the city of Prizren through Nashec village and the Drini i Bardhë valley and entering the Has region we continue to the last cross-border village, Gorozhup. From Gorozhup up to the top of an average hike to the category of difficult in some places, we reach the point of Pashtrik peak. This place is rich in various endemic and stenoendemic healing plants. During the war in Kosovo and the bombing of the North Atlantic Alliance, this border point was used for the transportation of soldiers and ammunition, but also victims who are martyrs of the KLA war. For this reason it is compulsory to be accompanied by a professional guide.

 

 

 

 


TËRSKAVEC

In the vicinity of Kobilica peak, the peak with the most attractive cliffs is located, Tërskavec. The peak is reached only by foot from the peak side of Kobilica. The most difficult peak to summit directly, therefore it is a challenge for climbers. Can only be climbed in the alpine style and with professional equipment (rope, carabiner, helmet, etc.). Professional physical training is necessary. On the way from Prizren, we reach the village of Lubinje e Epërme, from where we continue through the dense forest, rich in natural environment that leads to the old Karaula used by German KFOR (1700 m). From the Karaula close to the top we encounter in a large open space and the final part of the rugged rock and alpine climbing. Two-way exit: Macedonia, Sunny Hill, Kosovo.

 

 

 

 


MANASTIRICA SPRING

Not far from Prizren we can find ourselves in an attractive green area surrounded by trees and fresh water spring. It is a crossroad to the peak of the black spring. Family picnics, barbecue can be organized. Local residents use this location for picnics, gathering herbs. They also have a soccer field. During the winter it's suitable for hiking with snow shoes for families.
