Sharr Region (Partner municipalities are Dragash, Štrpce and Prizren) which is included within the extended area of Sharri National Park has the potential for a variety of tourist activities. Specific geographic position, natural resources, fauna and flora, rich cultural and historical heritage as well as folklore and traditional clothing are some of the potential for tourism development. The Sharri region includes a wide range of important cultural heritage in terms of physical structures, traditions, beliefs and knowledge.
Based on primary research of the promotional activities of the Sharr area, traditional, cultural events, recreational as well as sports are not promoted enough in Kosovo and beyond, both potential tourists are not sufficiently informed because Sharr region does not provide full information.
This project was created to address the problem of the lack of promotion of attractive and unique festivals in the Sharri region representing a unique culture and tradition for this region not only for Kosovo but also for the wider region. Tourist activities are already providing good sources income for the local population as well as regional businesses. In general, the region has one of the best geostrategic positions in Kosovo, which is a good prospect for economic development.
The information provided in this web page gives the description of the festivals-cultural events organized in these three municipalities during a calendar year where the promotion at the state level and beyond is hoped to be achieved.
